Paintings by David Adix
Tucson artist David Adix explores space, movement, and the portal to the ultimate dimension in this series of work created with oil pastel on Baltic birch.
A self-taught formalist, Adix’s journey as a visual artist began with collage and found/repurposedmaterials and grew to include his ‘signature’ work, the Native Figure – long, sculptural mixed media figures inspired by the work of Giacometti. As a keen observer of the desert landscape, he next sought a medium that would best capture the texture and colors of cactus, trees, and desert plants, finding the dynamic glide of oil pastels well-suited for the expression of the natural world.
