Garden Etiquette
Yume Japanese Gardens is a tranquil haven, and we ask visitors to treat it with care to preserve its peaceful beauty, sensitive plantings, and carefully tended landscapes.
Yume is a meditative and healing space for all visitors. We hope that you will read the policies carefully to create a welcoming and positive experience for everyone.
Visitor Policies
- Stay on the designated pathways.
- Keep pathways clear and accessible for others so all can enjoy the space.
- No smoking is permitted on the grounds or in parking lot areas.
- Only service dogs are allowed.
- Adults must accompany small children, especially in the pond area.
- Please only use your phone for photos and videos. This is a meditative space, and phone calls are discouraged.
- Food and open beverage containers are not allowed in the Gardens except during special events.
- Do not take plant cuttings, pick flowers, climb trees, step into raked areas, throw objects (including coins) into the koi pond, or feed the fish anything other than food pellets purchased from the Gardens.
- Parking at the Gardens is limited. Do not block other vehicles or our parking lot entrance and exit. Do not park in handicapped spaces without a permit.
- Firearms are not allowed on the premises. Please help us keep our Gardens a place of peace and harmony.
Photography Policies
Visitors who wish to photograph and film in the Gardens are encouraged to do so for their personal use.
- Because pathways must be kept accessible, tripod use is not permitted. Monopods are allowed.
- Personal photos are allowed and encouraged throughout the Gardens.
- Photoshoots may be arranged by calling (520)326-9686 ext. 129 or emailing rentals@tucsonbotanical.org.
- Due to the small space of the Garden, we require you to schedule a time with us before you arrive.
- Commercial use of photographs is prohibited without the full written consent of Tucson Botanical Gardens.
We are committed to preserving the authentic atmosphere and fragile environment of the Gardens. Those who do not comply with visitor and photography policies or who indulge in inappropriate or offensive behavior will be asked to leave without a refund of their admission fee.
