Butterflies: A Sketch and Watercolor Study: a 4-part Series

This class is for beginners to advanced artists with no previous experience necessary. Russell will be teaching how to draw from observation; he has over 30 Butterfly and moth specimens to choose from. We will focus on contour line drawing, value and texture. We will start with a black and white sketch and finally we will complete a watercolor of our chosen specimen.

Russel Kahn
Originally from New York City and Cincinnati, Russell has been creating and teaching art for the past 35 years in the Southwest and New England. Russell particularly loves printmaking, drawing, creating soft and oil pastel paintings, and working with clay. Russell hopes for his students to realize that their voice and risk-taking are the most important components of arts education.
Refund & Cancellation Policy
No refund will be issued less than 15 days prior to any Community Class. A $10 cancellation fee will be applied to all refunds. No refunds will be issued for special events. We reserve the right to cancel Community Classes due to insufficient registration, garden closure, or inclement weather, in which case, participants will receive a full refund. People with disabilities should make requests for accommodation as early as possible to allow time to make appropriate arrangements.
