Parks in Focus

Celebrating 25 years

Parks in Focus® Youth Photography Exhibit

Since 1999, the Stewart L. Udall Parks in Focus® Program has been connecting Tucson youth to nature and our Nation’s public lands through photography and outdoor learning. The program partners with local schools and youth organizations to put cameras in the hands of youth and lead them on in-school, after-school, weekend, and summer adventures in settings ranging from the Tucson Botanical Gardens to the Grand Canyon.

Throughout the program, students explore their creativity as they discover and learn about the natural and cultural resources of each place they visit. Their photography helps to tell the stories of their adventures and showcase their unique perspectives on all of the things that inspired them along the way.

This exhibition features images taken by recent Parks in Focus® participants from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Arizona, Imago Dei Middle School, Owl & Panther, and other local youth-serving partners. It also includes a display of historic images taken by, and of, past participants which celebrates the program’s 25th-anniversary milestone.
