Late Bloom: What Gardening Taught Me About Writing, Patience, and Beginning Again

Desert container gardening expert and author Marylee Pangman shares the unexpected path from planting pots to writing fiction, and what gardens can teach us about patience, change, and beginning again.

Known for her container gardening classes and books, Marylee now brings her love of the desert, women’s lives, and second chances into her Women of the Canyon fiction series. In this warm, story-based talk, she reflects on the lessons gardeners already know: roots matter, placement changes everything, some seasons require protection, and sometimes new growth begins after we pull out what no longer belongs.

Marylee will share her 30 year journey behind her books, read briefly from Whispers of Echo Canyon, and talk about how gardening and storytelling both help us notice what still wants to bloom.

Marylee Pangman founded The Contained Gardener in 1998 as a niche business in the desert community of Tucson, Arizona.
