Oh My Gourd!

Fall Festivities

Fall Plant Displays

Autumn squash, pumpkins, and flowers add pizazz at the Tucson Botanical Gardens this season. Two 12-foot ironwork “trees” are festooned with marigolds, chrysanthemums, and ornamental gourds. Stroll through a pumpkin tunnel and marvel at marigolds and the glow of fall flowers in pots and planting beds.

Butterfly Magic

Visit the COX Butterfly & Orchid Pavilion for a little Butterfly Magic. The only tropical butterfly greenhouse in Southern Arizona, more than thirty species of butterfly flutter by at any given time, over one hundred different species during the season. New styles of orchid displays are here, including vertical structures and hanging kokedama moss balls.  Colorful aroids, succulents, and nectar plants have been added, along with a collection of carnivorous plants.

Fiesta de los Animales

Throughout the grounds from October 12, Fiesta de los Animales will be let loose in the Gardens, a collection of folk-art animal sculptures, each showcasing the imagery and symbolism of indigenous Mexican cultures.
