Hydroponics 101 is an introduction to home hobby hydroponics. Discussion will include plant requirements and how hydroponics can meet them, hydroponic advantages/disadvantages, system types/components, starting a hydroponic garden, maintenance/troubleshooting as well as sources of equipment and sources for further information. Growing cannabis will not be covered in this session.

Don DeYoung is a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan and is a retired veterinary surgeon. He received a DVM degree from Michigan State University and following service in the U. S. Army, a PhD from Colorado State University. He is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. He was in private and academic clinical practice before he and his family moved to Tucson in 1979 for a position at The University of Arizona. He has been a volunteer at Tucson Botanical Gardens since at least 2008.
No refund will be issued less than 15 days prior to any Community Class. A $10 cancellation fee will be applied to all refunds. No refunds will be issued for special events. We reserve the right to cancel Community Classes due to insufficient registration, garden closure, or inclement weather, in which case, participants will receive a full refund.
