About the Exhibit
On January 24, 2020 through May 31, 2020 the Tucson Botanical Gardens will present, Beautiful Marvelous! Brazilian Modernism and Roberto Burle Marx.
Delve deeper into the era of Brazilian modernism and discover the fascinating life and work of Roberto Burle Marx (1909–94), one of the most influential landscape architects of the 20th century, and his contributions to environmental conservation and the visual arts.
Integrating horticulture and art, this exhibition illuminates Burle Marx’s multifaceted artistic output through a fully-realized homage to his mature landscape designs, displays of tropical plants that he favored in his design, local native plants and a selection of his lithographs and photographs.
