Single ticket $275 | Table $2,750

The Gardens and more than 400 of its closest friends will mark the opening of a new, permanent exhibit, Frida’s Garden, and celebrate the Gardens’ 50th Anniversary. A magical evening gala, Frida & Fifty, will kick off a season of celebrations!

About Frida’s Garden

A visit to Frida’s Garden at the Tucson Botanical Gardens will immerse you in the spirit of artist Frida Kahlo’s home garden. La Casa Azul, named after the bright blue house, is Frida’s private residence located in Coyoacán, a suburb of Mexico City, Mexico. She spent most of her life there, first with her family and, years later, at Diego Rivera’s side.

Recreating the essence of La Casa Azul, visitors will walk through the façade of Frida’s home. Surrounded by “Frida-Blue” walls and iconic photographs of Frida in her Garden, a scaled-down replica of the Aztec-inspired pyramid found in the courtyard of La Casa Azul is the garden’s centerpiece. A gentle trickle of water will flow from a replica of the infamous Toad Pond, inspired by Frida’s nickname for Diego Rivera, Sapo-rana, which means “toad-frog”. Six monumental animal sculptures, created in the style of pre-Hispanic clay figures, will be on display throughout the Gardens.
