Visit the ofrenda in the Barrio Garden and take a moment to honor a loved one you’ve lost.
An ofrenda is a shrine or altar often constructed to hold gifts for the spirits in hopes of enticing them back to their earthly homes for this one day. A family’s ofrenda may be decorated with deceased family members favorite foods and beverages, items that represent their particular vices, objects that held special meaning during their time on earth, and photographs. Statues of saints and the Virgin are also often included.
Please feel free to visit this during the event and join us in leaving mementos of your loved ones as part of our celebration.
