Desert Blooms in Watercolor

August 2 @ 2:00 pm 3:30 pm

Zoom Online class participants will receive a Zoom link for the live class two hours before the class begins.

$30 Non-Member / $24 Member

Materials not included in the price of the class. See list of materials needed below description.

Desert wildflowers are the perfect subject for watercolor. With colorful, highly pigmented petals, they lend themselves to the most interesting compositions. We will explore watercolor techniques like wet-on-wet, dry brush and a variety of paint methods to create exquisite desert wildflowers.

Materials Needed: watercolor paint – a small palette will do, brushes – a round and a flat, palette – a place to mix paint with water (a white plate is nice), watercolor paper – Canson is affordable or anything labeled #140, pencil, eraser, water container, paper towels, scratch paper.

Instructor

Devon Meyer

As an artist, Devon is constantly inspired by nature. The elaborate patterns and gorgeous colors seen in plants, birds or flowers are reflected in the work she does. Watercolor is her favorite medium but she also works in oil, charcoal, pen and ink and colored pencil.
