Garden Meditation in Ink – 9 a.m. to noon
Use simple and transportable water-soluble ink pens and a brush to create fluid and dynamic sketches of garden subjects. We’ll take a contemplative approach, focusing on process over product, taking careful time to observe the unique and wondrous plants, animals, and humans that surround us. Saraiya Kanning is a visual artist and creative writer with a passion for plants, animals, and ecology. She works in a variety of mediums, including ink, watercolor, and silk painting. Some of her favorite projects include watercolor journaling in Rocky Mountain National Park and Canyon de Chelly, illustrating Sonoran Desert flora and fauna through silk painting, and silk painting mountain landscapes on scarves.
