Discover the diversity of leaf shapes in our local ecosystems through art! We’ll learn about a few common southeast Arizona plants while drawing their leaves. We’ll bring our sketches to life with watercolor. Graphite and watercolor. All materials included.

Saraiya Kanning

Saraiya Kanning is a visual artist and creative writer with a passion for plants, animals, and ecology. She works in a variety of mediums, including ink, watercolor, and silk painting. Some of her favorite projects include watercolor journaling in Rocky Mountain National Park and Canyon de Chelly, illustrating Sonoran Desert flora and fauna through silk painting, and silk painting mountain landscapes on scarves.
