Cactus Portraits – 1 to 4 p.m.
Prickly pear, barrel cactus, organ pipe, and more! There are more than 2,000 species of cactus, with a range limited to North and South America. In this class presented by The Drawing Studio’s Saraiya Kanning, participants will draw 1 to 2 cactus species from life. After drawing outside in the garden, we’ll gather inside to add our own whimsical touches from memory. Graphite and water-soluble ink pen.Sign up for this class

Saraiya Kanning is a visual artist and creative writer with a passion for plants, animals, and ecology. She works in a variety of mediums, including ink, watercolor, and silk painting. Some of her favorite projects include watercolor journaling in Rocky Mountain National Park and Canyon de Chelly, illustrating Sonoran Desert flora and fauna through silk painting, and silk painting mountain landscapes on scarves.
