Bees, Wasps, and Ants May 2020

Bees, wasps, and ants are full of contradictions. Many are critically important for pollination of garden and agricultural crops. At the same time, we fear their painful sting. While some seem to be ubiquitous, others are declining to the point of becoming endangered. This class explores the fantastic world of these important insects that are familiar to everyone.

Jeff Babson

Jeff Babson is an all-around naturalist, with particular interest in birds, butterflies, moths, beetles and dragonflies.  Owner of Sky Island Tours, an environmental education and eco-tour company, Jeff has led birding tours for the Tucson Botanical Gardens, Pima County Department of Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation, Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, and several birding festivals in southern Arizona (Wings over Willcox, Southwest Wings, Tucson Birding and Nature Festival).  He lives in Vail with his wife and two children.
